Job summary

USLI is seeking an experienced claims professional to evaluate coverage, liability, and damages for complex claims. You will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to investigate, negotiate, and resolve claims effectively.

You will retain independent adjusters, manage litigation aspects, and prepare comprehensive reserve and reporting materials. A strong background in liability, damages evaluation, and diverse claims experience is required to support underwriting and

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience for Associate Claims Examiner
• 7+ years of relevant experience for Claims Examiner
• Experience as an examiner, adjuster, paralegal, attorney, or related role
• Specialized experience in Employment Practices, D&O, and/or E&O claims is highly preferred
• Multijurisdictional knowledge, advanced degrees, and/or JD are a plus

Responsibilities

• Coverage review and determining policy coverage details and reservation of rights where needed
• Thorough investigations into liability and damages, including interviews and scene inspections
• Retain and direct independent adjusters and manage investigation processes
• Apply liability analysis using applicable law to assess exposure
• Maintain accurate reserves reflecting evolving damages
• Manage claim files, negotiate settlements, and oversee defense counsel
• Prepare reserve authority requests, reinsurance reports, and serious loss reports
• Collaborate with underwriting, compliance, and actuarial teams to support product health
