Claims Crop Field Adjuster I

Zurich is currently looking for a RCIS Crop Claims Specialist I or a Claims Crop Field Adjuster I to join our Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. RCIS is one of the leading crop insurance providers in the U.S., offering insurance protection in all 50 states through a national network of about 3,600 licensed agents. Together with RCIS agents, we protect America's farmers and ranchers.

The RCIS Crop Claims Specialist will work out of the state of Wisconsin from a home-based office. This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week, with approximately 50% travel expected to cover the territory.

The ideal candidate will need to live and service within a 100-mile area of the following Wisconsin counties: Washington County, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Winnebago, Manitowoc.

As a RCIS Crop Claims Specialist, your primary accountabilities will include:

• Complete field inspections and related responsibilities such as reading maps and aerial photos, measuring fields and storage bins, and discussing findings of crop loss with farmers.
• Perform fact-finding regarding crop damage; record information and transmit loss information to accurately determine potential damages.
• Provide excellent service to our customers – both agents and policyholders (farmers).
• Utilize company software to electronically transmit claims information directly from the field to RCIS to ensure claims are processed timely and accurately.
• Follow regulatory and company rules, policies, and procedures.

This role will be filled at either the Crop Claims Specialist I or Crop Claims Associate level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.

Basic Qualifications:

Crop Claims Specialist I

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 or more years of experience in the agricultural or crop insurance industry.
• Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) Certification must be obtained within 180 days of hire date.
• Personal transportation and travel within assigned territory and travel outside of assigned area to assist with workload(s), participate on CAT team and/or provide remote assistance for the CROP Claims Care Center calls and/or CCP Claims.
• RCIS Crop Adjuster Physical Requirements; walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25 lbs to 50 lbs, work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions.

Crop Claims Associate

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and no prior experience required in the office environment or customer service area.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and no prior experience required in the office environment or customer service area.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Must reside in the Wisconsin counties of Washington, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Winnebago, Manitowoc.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organization and prioritization skills.

At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. The combined salary range for this position is $45,801.60 - $79,500.20. The proposed hourly salary range for the Claims Crop Field Adjuster I is $22.02 - $30.24, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 5%. The proposed salary range for the RCIS Crop Claims Specialist I is $48,600 - $79,500.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 5-10%.
