Responsibilities

• Analyze, investigate, and resolve BSI claims under supervision
• Prepare and present management reports covering loss development, financial exposure, and reserves
• Manage outside counsel with litigation plans and budgets
• Communicate with underwriting on significant claim exposures
• Attend mediations, depositions, and settlements
• Identify recovery opportunities and coordinate recovery efforts
• Draft coverage opinions incorporating case law
• Negotiate settlements and review releases
• Support underwriting marketing through broker visits and risk papers
• Research market conditions and applicable law affecting underwriting and claim decisions
• Provide legal advice to underwriting and non-attorney claim colleagues
• Participate in claim strategic initiatives
