Claims Business Intelligence Analyst
Overview of Position
Drive standardization, automation, and reusability of reporting solutions and analytical products to deliver consistent, actionable information and insights across the enterprise for business and functional support areas. Support the delivery of revenue growth, expense optimization, competitive advantage, and drive data-driven decision making by increasing analytical maturity. Leverage existing tools to efficiently deliver or present the information to internal or external audiences.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Ensure change management and quality assurance practices are understood, adhered to, and leveraged to enhance system health and quality.
- Understand methodology, standards, policies, and procedures and ensure team compliance.
- Design and develop solutions to business and technical requirements.
- Review quality requirements and establish or recommend appropriate measurement metrics.
- Identify and document quality assurance activities, strategies, and schedules.
- Evaluate software products and internally developed solutions for consistency with best practices and standards.
- Oversee staff technical support activities for test plans. Assist in analyzing conditions and approve strategies to minimize risks and improve reliability.
- Perform and mentor defect correction while maintaining reporting solution integrity.
- Evaluate outcomes, review findings, and recommend strategies for long-term quality and performance improvement.
- Lead, plan, and manage significant departmental, division, or enterprise projects.
- Provide project management services, including budget and resource allocation, forecasting, and financial tracking.
- Implement systems development methodologies and enforce compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate user efforts for project implementation.
- Communicate issues and progress to management and customers; provide management reports.
- Coordinate work across departments and project teams.
- Function as the lead BI and data modeler on complex projects.
- Work closely with business clients to develop technology solutions that provide a competitive advantage.
- Ensure supported BI environments, reports, dashboards, and data models are stable, highly available, cost-efficient, and technically mature.
- Manage resources and systems to meet or exceed SLAs.
- Enforce governance and stewardship.
- Perform audits or reviews proactively and as needed.
- Provide rapid corrective responses to incidents.
- Communicate incident status and document resolutions.
- Identify and recommend strategies to minimize recurrence risks.
- Mentor staff for effective incident resolution.
- Oversee resolution of complex technical issues.
- Coordinate application of enhancements and ensure customer satisfaction and SLA compliance.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure quality, cost, and architectural standards in changes.
- Collect requirements from stakeholders and leverage knowledge of products, channels, systems, and data for reporting solutions.
- Maintain open communication with users and stakeholders.
- Provide training to stakeholders.
- Review business goals and operational plans to stay aligned with business needs.
- Assist in requirements analysis and solution design for complex projects and change requests.
- Prepare project and product vision documentation.
- Implement and optimize visualization, dashboards, reporting, and analytical solutions through standardization and automation.
- Analyze and optimize existing solutions using best practices, tools, and policies.
- Implement scalable, standardized reports and self-service solutions to reduce manual effort.
- Test results and ensure quality assurance.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, understand requirements, and ensure timely delivery and training.
- Identify opportunities for optimization to add value through advanced insights and efficient use of Data Analytics capabilities.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Analytics, Business, Economics, Accounting, or equivalent experience in claims insurance-related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance, analytics, and reporting.
- Broad knowledge of visualization techniques, storytelling with data, automated descriptive analytics/reporting solutions, database management, data modeling, especially PowerBI, understanding of business needs and processes.
- Knowledge of PowerBI, Excel, SSRS, Tableau, SharePoint, PowerApps, MSFlow, SQL, and/or SAS.
What other skills/experience would be helpful?
- Master’s degree in relevant fields or equivalent experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across organizational boundaries.
- Proficiency in data analysis and making recommendations.
- Ability to prioritize tasks with shifting deadlines and manage multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently while meeting objectives.
What are the working conditions and physical requirements?
General office environment.

Pay Range: $63,400.00 - $105,800.00
