Brown & Brown's Risk Solutions team is seeking a Property Claims Advocate to support clients with property and energy claims advocacy, risk analysis and program services. You will work with the Senior Managing Director of Property & Energy Claims and the Placement Team to advocate for timely, fair settlements and to enhance client outcomes.

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Risk Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5-8 years of related insurance experience.

Brown & Brown's Risk Solutions team, formerly known as Beecher Carlson, is looking for a Property Claims Advocate to join the team.

The Property Claims Advocate will be responsible for providing property and energy claims advocacy, program analysis and risk services to clients working in conjunction with the Senior Managing Director of Property & Energy Claims and the Placement Team.Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Assists clients in reporting claims to carriers, advise on managing emergency services and how to begin documenting the claim. Consider and advise client on any other resources such as restoration firms, engineering consultants or claim preparation services.
• Assist clients with managing cash flow by advocating for early advance payments and ongoing partial payments as desired by the client.
• Throughout the process anticipate potential issues and communicate to the client and the adjustment team.
• Provide advice and guidance on carrier coverage positions. Advocate for client in response to any adverse coverage position.
• Manage client claims to bring about timely and fair settlement by appropriate follow up activities and settlement negotiations.
• Provide input to Risk Solutions placement team on client claims status as requested.
• Provide feedback to the placement team on any identified coverage issues or concerns.
• Develop Service Plans for claims handling based on client needs.
• Support and strengthen the Practice through individual contributions and suggestions, mentoring and coaching of junior team members inside and outside the Practice, communicating of success stories to our internal team and to clients as appropriate.
• Provide assistance and support for new business development/RFPs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, independent adjusters and vendors for the benefit of our clients.
• Keep current on marketplace changes
• Attend required training sessions, courses, etc. to develop and maintain up-to-date skills and maintenance of your broker's license.
• Maintain appropriate level of confidentiality of information processed.
• Follow all company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree including but not limited to Business and/or Risk Management, and/or 5-8 years of related insurance experience.
• Must have or be able to obtain the appropriate state brokers licenses.
• Ability to establish work priorities and manage time effectively.
• Ability to use initiative and good judgment in accomplishing tasks with minimal errors/Must possess critical thinking skills.
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships and to function in a team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to lead/command client and/or market discussions.
• Proficiency in use of personal computers, including data entry, word processing and spread sheet applications. Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
