Job description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process submissions within the claims process lifecycle for agencies and insureds assigning to the appropriate claim’s firm.
• Respond to requests from agencies and insureds for help in understanding a specific claim.
• Handle requests from claims adjusters for assistance in gathering additional data or documentation around a specific claim.
• Work with adjusters, policyholders and other parties to close and mitigate current losses and prevent future losses.
• Review and interpret adjuster reports and provide necessary information to various parties upon inquiry.
• Interpret policy coverages and be able to explain basic policy provisions.
• Support advisors in securing new business, by performing a baseline risk assessment that will identify opportunities in a prospect’s claims management program.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Possess strong knowledge of property and casualty insurance contracts to include HO3, HO4, HO5, HO6 and master policy programs.
• Ability to drive a claim from first intake through the process to satisfactory submission of the first notice of loss.
• Outstanding knowledge and ability to use MS Office Word and Excel in the execution of their daily duties.
• Possess the aptitude to learn new systems, programs, and technology driven business tools.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize assignments.
• Strong communication skill with unflappable professional demeanor under pressure.
• Display impeccable patients.
• Demonstrate firm’s core values, exuding behavior that is aligned with corporate culture.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 5 years experience within a client/customer facing or support role in the insurance industry preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience in claims.
• Be willing to obtain any state required license within a specified time frame from starting employment with the firm.
