Job summary

Cross Insurance is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Claims Advocate I to join our Claims Department. This entry-level role supports clients by handling personal and commercial insurance claims and ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-up.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Insurance, Communications or related field.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Obtain adjuster’s license within the first 90 days

Responsibilities

• Receive and process incoming personal and commercial claims.
• Input claim information into agency management systems and carrier portals.
• Document claim activity, communications, and status updates thoroughly and timely.
• Contact insurance carriers to report claims and ensure proper claim setup.
• Follow up with clients, adjusters, carriers, and third parties to obtain required information and documentation.
• Monitor open claims and maintain regular communication to ensure timely resolution.
• Assist clients with questions regarding the claims process and claim status updates.
• Review claim documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain electronic claim files and records in accordance with agency standards.
• Support Claims Advocates and management with administrative and claim-related duties.
• Prioritize daily workload to meet deadlines and service expectations.
• Collaborate with account managers, producers, and agency staff to provide exceptional client service.
• Develop knowledge of personal and commercial insurance coverages and claims handling practices.
• Manage auto glass claims ensuring timely response and working with carriers on closure.
