Job summary

MPI is seeking a Civil Utilities Estimator in Middlesex, NJ to develop detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for underground utilities and site infrastructure. You will collaborate with project management, operations, subcontractors, and suppliers to deliver competitive bids.

The role focuses on accurate scope definition, risk assessment, and value engineering opportunities across New Jersey public and private projects. A strong estimator can drive successful handoffs post-award.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience within civil construction, utilities, infrastructure, or site development.
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software tools such as Bluebeam, HCSS HeavyBid, Bid2Win, Agtek.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for underground utility and civil construction projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for water mains, sanitary sewer, stormwater systems, and related work.
• Review plans and bid documents to determine scope and requirements, and develop labor, equipment, and material costs.
