Job summary

Timmons Group seeks a Civil Project Engineer I/II in Charlotte, NC to join the Traffic Analysis & Planning Group. You will support transportation projects for state DOTs, local governments, and private clients—from traffic impact analyses to multimodal safety improvements.

The role requires 1–3 years of relevant experience and a Civil Engineering degree, with proficiency in Synchro, SIDRA, and HCS. Local DOT experience is a plus; EIT/PE preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in transportation or traffic engineering and planning.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Proficiency with Synchro, SIDRA, and HCS (essential).

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic operations analyses, traffic impact studies, corridor studies, and intersection control evaluations.
• Develop traffic forecasting, capacity analyses, and traffic simulation models.
• Support traffic signal design, signal timing, and ITS design efforts.
• Coordinate with client staff and internal design teams; present findings to clients and stakeholders.
