Job summary

Timmons Group in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Civil Project Engineer I/II to join the Traffic Analysis and Planning Group. You will support transportation projects for DOTs, local governments, and private clients, including traffic impact analyses, corridor studies and signal timing.

The role requires 1–3 years in transportation/traffic engineering, proficiency with Synchro, SIDRA and HCS, and a Civil Engineering degree. EIT/PE is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• 1–3 years of transportation or traffic engineering and planning experience.
• Proficiency with Synchro, SIDRA, and HCS.
• Experience working with DOTs and/or local governments.
• CAD or GIS knowledge is a plus.
• EIT or PE licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic operations analyses, traffic impact studies, corridor studies, access management evaluations, and intersection control evaluations.
• Develop traffic forecasting, capacity analyses, and traffic simulation models.
• Support traffic signal design, signal timing, and ITS design efforts; assist with MTP/TPP deliverables.
• Research and write clear, objective technical reports and memoranda; prepare project schedules and cost estimates; conduct field observations.
