Job summary

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer I/II to join our Traffic Analysis & Planning Group in Columbia, SC. You will support transportation and traffic projects for DOTs, local governments, and private clients, from traffic impact analyses to multimodal safety improvements.

Responsibilities include traffic operations analyses, corridor studies, design support, and reporting. A Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering is required, with 1–3 years' experience and EIT/PE preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• 1–3 years in transportation or traffic engineering and planning.
• Proficiency with Synchro, SIDRA, HCS required.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic operations analyses and corridor studies.
• Evaluate intersection control and access management options.
• Develop traffic forecasts and capacity analyses.
• Support signal design, timing, and ITS design efforts.
• Prepare clear technical reports and project documentation.
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams.
