Job summary

Granite Construction in Texas seeks a seasoned Civil Project Manager to lead a major civil program with mass grading and large-scale site development. Qualifications

• Extended experience in heavy civil construction and site development.
• Ability to manage multiple crews and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Experience with field planning, safety programs, and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Safety Leadership – Lead Granite’s safety program across assigned operations; verify pre-task planning, coach field leaders, stop unsafe work, and confirm corrective actions before work resumes.
• Environmental Protection – Coordinate compliance with SWPPP measures, erosion and sediment controls, dust suppression, and spill prevention.
• Integrated Civil Execution – Lead earthwork, grading, drainage, roads, and related site work to meet plans and budgets.
• Field Planning and Sequencing – Develop execution and look-ahead plans; sequence work areas and coordinate handoffs.
• Leadership and Staffing – Direct Superintendent I personnel and foremen; forecast staffing and support hiring.
• Resource Management – Balance crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractor support; coordinate mobilization and demobilization.
• Production and Financial Performance – Ensure accurate reporting; review costs and forecasts; drive corrective actions.
• Survey and Grade Control – Coordinate survey support; verify plan accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Quality and Turnover – Coordinate inspections, tolerances, drainage, and turnover with complete records.
• Trade and Client Coordination – Represent field operations in meetings; resolve conflicts with subcontractors and clients.
• Change, Risk, and Reporting – Identify changes and risks; maintain daily reports and notifications.
• Completion and Improvement – Lead punch-lists and field closeout; capture lessons learned and mentor future leaders.
