Job Description

Our Forensic Architecture & Engineering team is seeking a mid to senior‑level Forensic Civil Structural Engineer (PE or SE) to enhance our already robust team of professionals supporting our clients throughout the United States. Engineers routinely perform forensic investigations, provide consultation, prepare and deliver technical papers, and serve as expert witnesses. Assignments will require regular local and regional travel to project sites.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct field observations, testing and data collection.
  • Prepare reports detailing observations, testing results, research conducted, and recommendations.
  • Work with building departments to determine repair directives.
  • Conduct research and develop technical topics for publication.
  • Meet with and present to peers and clients.
  • Engage in client‑relations marketing.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school.
  • PE or SE license in California (or ability to obtain one soon).
  • 2-7+ years of experience as a forensic engineer.
  • Familiarity with modern building codes and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and conduct site inspections.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Testimony experience as a designated expert witness (for senior level).

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights.
  • Capable of accessing and working on roofs, scaffolds, lifts, and in enclosed spaces.
  • Physically able to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
  • Able to work in various indoor and outdoor environments.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $120k - $165k. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
