Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Civil Structural Engineering Manager to lead and grow a dedicated engineering team while shaping technical strategy across projects. The role partners with the Engineering Director to deliver high-quality designs and ensure QA/QC compliance.

Based in the United States with multiple possible locations, you will recruit, mentor, and manage staff, coordinate with client leadership, and help expand our pipeline with senior-level engineering insights and efficient cross-office

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET preferred).
• Minimum 5 years in management within the energy sector.
• Experience in transmission, distribution and generating stations is a plus.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and manage engineering staff while aligning with strategy.
• Provide technical direction and process oversight across projects.
• Develop client relationships with senior engineers and executives.
• Coordinate cross-office work and multi-client standards for efficiency.
• Support business development to maintain pipeline and backlog.
• Present technical solutions to customers and respond to questions.
• Review timesheets and ensure cost, quality, schedule compliance.
• Lead QA/QC audits of design packages.
• Attend project kickoff meetings and define scope, budgets, schedules, safety.
• Mentor staff and coordinate training programs.
