Job summary

Consolidated Edison Company of New York's Steam and Gas Engineering Department seeks a highly motivated Civil Engineer to join the Steam Projects Civil Section. The engineer will manage complex projects, design SSCs for steam and electric generating facilities, and coordinate with internal teams and external consultants.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with about 4 years of related experience; familiarity with AISC/ACI/ASCE, AutoCAD, and structural analysis

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of applicable civil engineering work experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage complete projects; design structures and systems for steam/electric generating stations.
• Prepare design packages and review construction documents; coordinate with outside consultants.
• Ensure safety, health, and environmental programs are followed across projects.
• Provide field support and respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis when required.
• Travel to Con Edison sites for project support as needed.
• Perform cost estimates and budgeting for projects.
• Supervise internal and external design efforts.
• Provide technical assistance and respond to engineering inquiries.
