Job summary

Appsierra Group is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer for a remote contract role. The candidate will develop BIM models, produce complete civil/structural drawing sets, and ensure IFC data integrity across complex multi‑building projects.

The role requires hands‑on BIM authoring, strong knowledge of codes (Eurocode/ACI/ASCE/IS/BS), and excellent English communication. Collaboration with design teams will be key to delivering practical design improvements and robust BIM workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on professional experience after completing your degree.
• Experience authoring complete civil or structural drawing sets.
• At least 3 years of daily, expert-level BIM authoring experience.
• Strong proficiency with Revit, ArchiCAD, or BlenderBIM.
• Hands‑on experience exporting and validating IFC files.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary projects and delivering complex or multi‑building solutions.
• Strong understanding of applicable engineering codes and standards.
• Ability to apply Eurocode, ACI, ASCE, IS, BS, or comparable standards in practical design work.
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong technical communication skills.

• Apply professional engineering judgment to recommend practical design improvements.
• Assess the functionality and usability of BIM tools and data workflows.
• Document technical decisions, assumptions, and design rationale clearly.
• Communicate technical findings through written and verbal channels.
• Provide practical engineering expertise to inform the development and evaluation of AI‑powered engineering solutions.

Hourly Rate: $30–$50/hr

Annual compensation equivalent is calculated at 40 hours per week across 48 workable weeks per year and is not a guaranteed salary.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Civil / Structural Engineers with strong BIM authoring, drawing production, and multidisciplinary coordination experience.

You will work with detailed civil and structural design information, develop and manage BIM models, validate IFC data, and apply relevant engineering codes and standards to complex projects.

The role is suited to professionals who have hands‑on experience developing complete drawing sets and BIM models for real‑world projects. No prior AI experience is required.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of hands‑on professional experience after completing your degree.

• Experience authoring complete civil or structural drawing sets, not limited to markups or design reviews.

• At least 3 years of daily, expert-level BIM authoring experience.

• Strong proficiency with Revit, ArchiCAD, or BlenderBIM.

• Hands‑on experience exporting and validating IFC files.

• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary projects and delivering complex or multi‑building solutions.

• Strong understanding of applicable engineering codes and standards.

• Ability to apply Eurocode, ACI, ASCE, IS, BS, or comparable standards in practical design work.

• Excellent written and spoken English with strong technical communication skills.

• Strong attention to accuracy, coordination, and design detail.

Preferred Technical Experience

Additional experience in the following areas is valuable:

• Professional engineering or architectural licensing, such as PE or CEng/Chartered status

• OpenBIM scripting using Python or IfcOpenShell

• Clash detection and model checking with Navisworks or Solibri

• Engineering analysis tools such as ETABS, SAP2000, Robot, or Tekla

• Development of custom BIM families

• Data annotation or AI engineering projects

• Advanced IFC and BIM interoperability workflows
