Job description

BIM Modeler – Multifamily & Structural Construction
Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced BIM Modeler to support BIM coordination and modeling throughout the design and construction of multifamily, mixed-use, and luxury residential projects, with a significant focus on concrete and structural steel construction.

This is a hands-on BIM position working closely with design, engineering, project management, and field construction teams. The BIM Modeler will primarily coordinate and maintain Revit models developed by third-party architects, engineers, and consultants, identify clashes and constructability issues, and incorporate approved solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

An important component of the position will also include supporting the development of concrete erection and construction models used by project teams to plan and execute structural work in the field.

The ideal candidate combines strong Revit/BIM technical skills with practical construction knowledge and understands how coordinated models can improve constructability, reduce field conflicts, and support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, review, organize, and coordinate Revit models from third-party architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, and consultants.
  • Maintain coordinated project models throughout design and construction.
  • Incorporate approved design revisions, RFIs, coordination changes, and significant field conditions into BIM models.
  • Perform multidisciplinary model coordination and clash detection across:
    • Architectural
    • Structural
    • Concrete
    • Structural Steel
    • Mechanical
    • Electrical
    • Plumbing
    • Underground Wet & Dry Utilities
    • Specialty Trades
  • Identify conflicts, constructability issues, and discrepancies between models, construction documents, and field conditions.
  • Track clashes and coordination issues through final resolution.
  • Work directly with Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and consultants to develop coordinated solutions.
  • Participate in BIM/VDC and trade coordination meetings.
  • Clearly communicate model conflicts, required revisions, and outstanding coordination items.
  • Maintain accurate model files, revisions, linked models, and coordination documentation.
  • Support field teams with model information, details, and visualization as required.
  • Assist with model-based quantity takeoffs and other construction analyses.
  • Identify opportunities to improve BIM standards, workflows, and construction technology.

A significant focus of this position will be supporting concrete and structural construction.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Develop and maintain concrete erection and construction models.
  • Model foundations, footings, grade beams, slabs, walls, columns, beams, and other structural elements.
  • Coordinate cast-in-place and structural concrete with architectural and MEP systems.
  • Coordinate structural steel interfaces with concrete and other building systems.
  • Model and coordinate embeds, sleeves, openings, penetrations, blockouts, and other structural interfaces.
  • Incorporate approved structural revisions and field changes.
  • Support concrete pour planning, sequencing, and constructability reviews.
  • Assist engineering and construction teams with visualization of complex structural conditions.
  • Identify potential conflicts before concrete placement or structural installation.
  • Help ensure models accurately reflect the construction team's approved means and sequencing.
Preferred Project Experience

Candidates with BIM/VDC experience involving the following are highly preferred:

  • Multifamily Construction
  • Mid-Rise Residential
  • Mixed-Use Developments
  • Luxury Residential
  • Post-Tensioned Concrete
