Job summary

King County Water and Land Resources Division is seeking a Construction Management III - Inspector (Civil/Structural) to oversee field inspections across CIP projects at wastewater treatment facilities. The role focuses on civil/structural discipline, reviewing plans, and ensuring compliance with contract documents while coordinating with Project Representatives and O&M teams.

The ideal candidate will read engineering drawings, document daily activity, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Two years of technical school training in civil engineering or related field, plus one year of construction inspection experience.
• Or six years of progressive construction inspection experience, preferably in wastewater/construction.
• Or three years of experience as Wastewater Construction Management II.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with Project Representative, Contractor, and Operations & Maintenance team.
• Perform construction inspections to ensure contract specifications and plans are followed.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications for wastewater treatment requirements.
• Document work in the Daily Inspection Report and upload to SharePoint and asset management databases.
• Take photo documentation and upload to SharePoint.
• Apply experience to help solve construction problems.
