Job summary

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) seeks a Project Engineer for its Civil/Site Department in Hackettstown, NJ. Lead civil/site design, prepare calculations and permit applications, and coordinate with clients and municipalities through all project phases.

The role involves supervising design work, meeting with project stakeholders, and guiding projects from design to construction while expanding technical and management abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer license in New Jersey required.
• Minimum 4 years of civil/site engineering and land development design experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong knowledge of NJ land development regulations and permitting processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee the design and development of civil/site plans (grading, drainage, utilities, roadway improvements, erosion control).
• Perform and review engineering calculations related to site design and stormwater management.
• Prepare construction documents, specifications, reports, and permit applications.
• Coordinate design efforts with project managers, clients, municipalities, and other disciplines.
• Review survey data, environmental constraints, zoning, and land development regulations.
• Participate in meetings with clients, municipal agencies, and regulatory authorities.
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination.
• Mentor junior engineers and design staff.
• Conduct site visits and construction observations to monitor progress.
• Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and permitting requirements.
• Assist in responding to agency review comments and securing project approvals.
