Job summary

Dogwood Site Contractors is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our site development team in Atlanta. You will prepare accurate cost estimates for civil site work including earthwork, utilities, and paving, and support bids from pre-bid through construction handoffs.

You will review plans, develop unit pricing, and coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive, profitable bids while aligning with project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CM, Civil Eng or related field preferred.
• Strong understanding of site development: earthwork, stormwater, utilities, grading.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, civil drawings, and technical documents.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates under tight deadlines.
• 3+ years estimating experience, preferably in site/civil construction.
• Experience in takeoff software (Bluebeam, Agtek, ProEstimate or HCSS) and estimating tools.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze project plans and specs to prepare accurate site development estimates.
• Calculate quantities and costs of labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Develop and maintain unit pricing and cost databases.
• Prepare bid proposals, scopes of work, and takeoffs.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing accuracy.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess risk.
• Work with project managers, engineers, and field staff to align estimates with plans.
• Collaborate with BD and leadership on bid strategies and pricing.
• Provide value engineering recommendations to save costs.
• Participate in project handoffs to ensure smooth estimating-to-ops transition.
• Support PMs during construction with pricing, change orders, and cost tracking.
