Job summary

Piedmont Paving, Inc. is seeking an experienced Estimator in Newnan, GA to join our team. The Estimator will develop accurate project estimates for paving, grading, excavation, and full site development, and collaborate with sales and operations to win bids.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in construction estimating, familiar with plans, specs, and cost analysis, and proficient with estimating software. On-site work in Newnan, GA, with occasional project site visits, is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of construction estimating experience.
• Experience in paving, grading, excavation, site development, or commercial construction strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand the relationship between labor, materials, equipment, production, and project costs.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to prepare professional estimates, reports, presentations, and proposals.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and project requirements.
• Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree is a plus, but relevant experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze construction plans, specifications, drawings, bid documents, and project requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for paving, grading, excavation, drainage, utilities, concrete, and site development work.
• Develop accurate, competitive project estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and project costs.
• Obtain and evaluate pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Assist with value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Job description

Piedmont Paving, Inc. is a full-service paving, grading, and site development company serving the Atlanta area. We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and a solid understanding of paving, grading, excavation, and full site development. This individual will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive project estimates, reviewing plans and specifications, analyzing project costs, and working closely with our sales and operations teams to successfully bid and secure projects.
