Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
• 3-8+ years of related experience to land development or civil/site engineering.
• PE preferred, EIT required.
• Knowledge of the local municipal, county and state land use, planning and zoning processes and regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading and site development designs.
• Civil 3D skills with design from concept to completion.

Responsibilities

• Review of municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for the property.
• Site Investigation & Due Diligence including review of ordinances, utility service research, outside agency regulations and site visits to establish development guidelines.
• Preparation of Concept Drawings based on client objectives, including coordination with AutoCAD draftsmen.
• Leadership role in the review and design of Stormwater Management & Stormwater Conveyance Systems using Civil 3D and hydrology software.
• Prepare pipe sizing calculations for stormwater conveyance systems and drainage area maps.
• Evaluate surface runoff coefficients, invert, slope, velocity and hydraulic grade line using Rational Method & Manning's Equation.
• Grading Design to achieve value engineering and ensure site safety.
• Subdivision and site plan design and layout.
• Design of Utility Systems including stormwater conveyance, sanitary sewer, pump stations, water/gas/telecom, resolving conflicts.
• Soil Erosion & Sediment Control Design including BMPs and construction sequencing.
• Preparation of Construction Cost Estimates for bonding and client purposes.
• Ability to work independently and lead a team of engineers.
