Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design in Albany, NY seeks an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Civil/Site team. You will design grading and drainage for land development projects, work with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and coordinate with staff engineers to meet budgets, deadlines, and regulations.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, 3–8+ years of land development or civil/site experience, and PE preferred with EIT required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 3-8+ years of land development or civil/site experience.
• PE preferred, EIT required.
• Knowledge of local land use, planning and zoning regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in stormwater management, hydraulics, grading and related design.

Responsibilities

• Review zoning and land development ordinances to determine land development limits.
• Conduct site investigation and due diligence, including outside agency regulations and site visits.
• Prepare concept drawings and coordinate with AutoCAD drafters.
• Lead design of Stormwater Management and Conveyance Systems using Civil 3D and hydraulics software.
• Prepare pipe sizing calculations and drainage area maps.
• Design grading, subdivision and site layouts; resolve utility conflicts.
• Prepare construction cost estimates for bonding and client purposes.
