Job summary

Byrne & Jones is seeking a Project Manager, Engineer to lead civil design for sports, parks, and site development in Missouri. You will guide grading, drainage, and stormwater, review designs, and collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.

The role combines hands-on engineering with project coordination, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring compliance with AHJs and USACE standards. On-site work across construction sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of civil engineering experience in site design and coordination.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and related design standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead, design, and review civil designs (grading, drainage, stormwater, turf-based systems).
• Collaborate with estimating, project management, and sales teams; attend client hand-off meetings.
• Provide QA/QC for work produced by Civil Designers and Project Engineers.
• Ensure designs meet municipal, state, and agency standards (AHJs, MODNR, USACE).
• Mentor, train, and support engineering staff.
• Prepare and review permit submittals and coordinate approvals.
• Attend client and municipal meetings.
• Help manage workloads and support smooth handoff to construction.
