Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting seeks a Civil Engineering Project Manager in Charleston, SC to lead complex civil projects from conception through completion. You'll build client relationships, supervise staff, and ensure schedules and budgets are met.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in civil engineering, PE preferred, 8+ years of experience including 3+ in assistant PM, and strong knowledge of land development, drainage, and municipal codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• 8+ years civil engineering experience, including 3+ years in assistant project management.
• Expertise in land development engineering for residential and commercial projects.
• Solid understanding of municipal codes and regulations.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AES, CIVILD, WSPGW, PCSWMM, StormCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS strongly preferred.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).
• Experience with storm drain modeling, hydrologic calculations, and open channel/detention basin design.
• Knowledge of HEC-RAS modeling and CLOMR/LOMR processes.
• Ability to research zoning, development standards, review processes, and compliance requirements.
• Strong technical writing skills for reports, narratives, applications, and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Lead project development including scope, budgets, bid summaries, and cost estimates.
• Manage multiple projects to meet schedule and budget targets.
• Prepare and review designs, plans, specifications, estimates, and reports.
• Monitor project finances, including costs, billing, and accounts receivable.
• Maintain and strengthen client relationships to ensure successful delivery and secure repeat business.
• Supervise project personnel to uphold high professional standards.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, design teams, and regulatory agencies.
• Assist with marketing initiatives and client presentations.
• Provide technical support to resolve design issues and conduct field inspections.
• Review contract changes and assess impacts on staffing and budgets.
