Job summary

Cardinal Engineering Associates, Inc. in Meriden, CT is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to support and lead design efforts for public works and infrastructure projects, including bridges, roadways, storm drainage and site development.

You will prepare engineering plans and specifications, perform calculations, and coordinate with project managers, CAD staff, and regulatory agencies. Occasional field visits and construction observation are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in Civil Engineering and design for public works/infrastructure.
• Experience with highway or bridge design and drainage/hydrologic analysis.
• Familiarity with site development, grading, utilities, permitting.
• Commitment to quality control and accurate documentation.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; EIT/PE preferred in CT.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead civil design for public works and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare engineering plans and specifications; perform calculations.
• Collaborate with project managers, CAD staff, and regulatory agencies.
• Attend project meetings and communicate design requirements to clients/regulators.
