Job summary

Conti Civil in New Jersey is seeking a Project Engineer to work with the Project Team and Field Management to deliver safe, high‑quality infrastructure projects on time and within budget. You will manage subcontractors, prepare submittals, buyouts, and maintain strong client relations while supporting the project team.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management and 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field with 5+ years of relevant heavy civil construction experience or equivalent.
• Roadway and/or site work experience is required.
• Excellent teamwork, communication and people skills a must.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, HCSS and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Develops construction means and methods with the Superintendent/PM to optimize safety, cost and schedule.
• Manages foremen's reports daily and records income, cost or inventory entries.
• Monitors material yields and minimizes waste.
• Leads buyout process and communicates information to the Project Team.
• Assists preparation of the 12 month cash flow schedule.
• Oversees subcontractors and coordinates meetings with updates to schedules and drawings.
• Produces project submittals, shop drawings and material certifications for approval.
• Participates in Four Week Look Ahead schedules with Supervisors.
