The role requires a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, 2+ years in bridge design, and strong communication. Master’s degree and PE license are pluses, with proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD, NBIS

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in structural and/or bridge design.
  • PE License is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with design software including MicroStation and AutoCAD.
  • NBIS bridge inspection certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform rehabilitation designs for bridges and buildings.
  • Conduct bridge load ratings and evaluations.
  • Support project planning including scope, schedule, and budget development.
  • Assist in project and task management.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts and proposal development.

Job Description

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III to join our Structures and Bridge Design Group in Raleigh, NC. This is a great opportunity to work on routine and complex structures including bridge, building, renewable energy and ancillary structure designs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
  • Perform rehabilitation designs for bridges and buildings
  • Conduct bridge load ratings and evaluations
  • Support project planning including scope, schedule, and budget development
  • Assist in project and task management
  • Contribute to marketing efforts and proposal development
Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in structural and/or bridge design
  • PE License is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications , AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation , and NCDOT standards
  • Proficiency in structural design software
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD for plan development
  • NBIS bridge inspection certification is a plus
