Job summary

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III to join our Structures and Bridge Design Group in Raleigh, NC. You will work on routine and complex structures including bridge, building, renewable energy and ancillary structure designs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering with 2+ years of experience in structural/bridge design and a PE license is a plus. Proficiency in MicroStation/AutoCAD is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in structural and/or bridge design.
• PE license is a plus and beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform rehabilitation designs for bridges and buildings.
• Conduct bridge load ratings and evaluations.
• Support project planning including scope, schedule, and budget development.
• Assist in project and task management.
• Contribute to marketing efforts and proposal development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

• Perform rehabilitation designs for bridges and buildings
• Conduct bridge load ratings and evaluations
• Support project planning including scope, schedule, and budget development
• Assist in project and task management
• Contribute to marketing efforts and proposal development

Skills/Requirements

of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
• 2+ years of experience in structural and/or bridge design
• PE License is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation, and NCDOT standards
• Proficiency in structural design software
• Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD for plan development
• NBIS bridge inspection certification is a plus
