Job summary

Timmons Group in Raleigh, NC seeks a Civil Project Engineer II/III to join our Roadway Design Transportation Group. You will design roadway alignments, create 3D models and prepare submission packages.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of transportation civil engineering experience and proficiency with OpenRoads Designer or Civil 3D; EIT preferred. We offer a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• 2+ years of transportation civil engineering experience, roadway design.
• Proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoDesk Civil 3D (preferred).
• Familiarity with VDOT standards and procedures (preferred).
• EIT certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design horizontal alignments and vertical profiles for roadway widening and improvement projects.
• Develop 3D models and plans using OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil 3D.
• Create visualizations for client and public presentations using 3D software.
• Prepare detailed plan sheets and complete project submission packages.
• Perform roadway and drainage calculations using engineering software and reference materials.
• Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates.
• Research and utilize open-source GIS data for project planning.
• Conduct field observations and data collection to support design discussions.
• Stay current with emerging technologies to enhance team capabilities.
• Participate in client and contractor meetings to support project delivery.

• Design horizontal alignments and vertical profiles for roadway widening and improvement projects
• Develop 3D models and plans using AutoDesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer
• Create visualizations for client and public presentations using 3D software
• Prepare detailed plan sheets and complete project submission packages
