Job summary

Timmons Group seeks a Civil Project Engineer II or III for its Land Development Group in the Washington, DC office. Projects range from large industrial and distribution to public land development such as schools and parks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• EIT certification preferred or required.
• 2–8 years of professional experience in land development civil engineering.
• Experience with site plans (layout, utilities, grading & drainage, erosion control, stormwater).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Design project components using office software, modeling tools, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Perform engineering calculations and problem-solving using formulas and computer tools.
• Prepare material specifications through research and equipment catalogs.
• Develop design details and complete plan sets.
• Conduct research and prepare objective summary reports for project completion.
• Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates.
• Perform field observations, inspections, and data collection as directed.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal design teams under senior staff guidance.
