Job summary

Baker Electric is seeking a Project Engineer II to assist Project Managers in planning, coordinating, documenting, and executing civil construction projects from turnover through closeout. The role acts as a liaison between field and office, supporting schedules, control of documents, procurement, cost tracking, and change management.

The candidate will work with growing independence, may support multiple project phases, and be assigned to office or site based on needs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in project engineering, field engineering, or related civil construction roles.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers across planning, coordination, and closeout activities.
• Review plans and contracts to develop understanding of requirements and coordination.
• Track milestones, subcontractor needs, and two-week look-aheads.
• Maintain project documentation: RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders.
