Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Project Engineer - Civil Construction in Elgin, IL to support PMs through all phases of construction, from preconstruction to closeout. The role requires 1–3 years in a related field and a Bachelor's in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.

You will coordinate with subcontractors, architects, and vendors, help with scheduling, cost tracking, and field QA, and use Procore or Viewpoint.

Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in construction project engineering or related role.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or related field.
Familiarity with Procore, Viewpoint or similar PM software.
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
Clear written and verbal communication; able to work across field and office.
OSHA 10 preferred; OSHA 30 a plus.

Responsibilities

Support Project Managers through all phases of construction—from preconstruction to closeout.
Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Assist with scheduling, cost tracking, and budget reporting using PM software.
Attend and document owner, architect, and subcontractor meetings; distribute minutes.
Conduct field observations and assist superintendent with quality control and site documentation.
Support estimating and bidding efforts on new project pursuits as needed.
