Job summary

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join the Federal/Public Safety Land Development Group in our Wilmington, NC office. The role supports federal government and military site plans, yards and facilities, and mission-specific campuses.

Essential duties include design work using Civil 3D, calculations, cost estimates, field data collection, and client communication. A related degree and AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency are required; EIT is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or master's degree in civil engineering or closely related field.
• 2+ years of experience in land development civil engineering preferred; entry level considered.
• EIT preferred; must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design portions of a project using Civil 3D and related software.
• Perform calculations and use engineering formulas to solve problems.
• Prepare specifications and select materials, installations, and inspections.
• Develop design details and plan sets for projects.
• Research and write objective summary reports for project work or inspections.
• Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates.
