Job summary

Timmons Group, based in Richmond, VA, is seeking a Civil Project Engineer I to join our Land Development, Water/Wastewater, Stormwater, Traffic Analysis & Planning, Structure & Bridge, and Renewable Energy groups. This entry-level position offers exposure to design projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.

We anticipate responsibilities in design, calculations, material specs, field data collection, and collaboration with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or closely related field.
• EIT is preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and ORD is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design project components using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other industry-standard software.
• Complete calculations using engineering formulas and/or computers to solve problems.
• Research and prepare material specifications, installation guidelines, and inspection protocols.
• Work to complete design details and plan sets.
• Complete field observation, inspection and data collection as directed by senior staff.
• Collaborate with client staff and internal design team.
• Contribute to cost estimates and technical reports.
