Job summary

River to Tap, Inc. (R2T) is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to drive design and management of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects across our Roswell, GA and Alexandria, VA offices.

You'll develop engineering solutions, prepare drawings, reports, and specifications, and coordinate with contractors. The ideal candidate has at least five years in civil/environmental engineering, a BS in Civil Engineering, and proficiency in CAD-based tools (Civil 3D, Revit).

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• PE license preferred for senior responsibilities.
• 5+ years in civil/environmental engineering with progressive tasks.
• Proficiency in CAD-based software is required (Civil 3D and Revit preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute engineering solutions for water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities.
• Prepare and review design drawings, specs, and reports.
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs during construction.
• Develop unit process and yard piping solutions; conduct site investigations.
• Manage multiple tasks, schedules, and budgets for project teams.
• Coordinate resources to deliver detailed designs, reports, and planning documents.

R2T provides a wide range of services in civil and environmental engineering, environmental planning and permitting, operations, and project and construction management to various federal, state, and local agencies and municipalities. We are looking for a Civil Project Engineer to join our growing engineering group as we expand our Roswell, GA and Alexandria, VA offices. In this role, you will drive the completion of engineering projects across all facets of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure.

Specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Manage and execute the development of engineering solutions to address process and linear components associated with various aspects of water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities.
• Prepare and review design plans including the preparation of engineering design drawings, technical specifications, and engineering reports.
• Review shop drawings and respond to requests for information from the contractor during construction.
• Research and develop sound technical solutions to address unit process and yard piping components associated with water, wastewater, and stormwater-related facilities.
• Conduct on-site inspection/investigation including survey and documentation of client/facility issues and solutions. Develop reports of investigative findings, repair drawings and specifications as required.
• Manage multiple tasks; this includes establishing goals and objectives for project teams and monitoring schedules and budgets to ensure effective completion of work accordingly.
• Schedule and coordinate project resources to prepare and deliver projects including detailed design drawings and specifications, technical reports, and planning documents.
• Maintain project records and perform all other assigned duties.
• 5+ years of experience in the engineering and consulting industry, with experience in the water, wastewater, and/or stormwater engineering field and progressive responsibilities including task management.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of study and PE, preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD-based software is required. Civil 3D and Revit experience is preferred.
• Design and/or planning experience through design and construction of municipal facilities.
• Ability to perform duties with only general supervision with a capacity to exercise independent judgment and initiative.
• Proficiency with site design functions: site layout, grading, utility design, stormwater management, erosion control, municipal & land‑use regulatory approvals.
• Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely with written and verbal communication.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work. The selected candidate must be available to work in Roswell or Alexandria on a scheduled basis.
