DickAndersonConstruction in Libby, MT is seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Full-Time Project Engineer to join our Civil team. The role supports project documentation, cost tracking, scheduling, procurement, and communications to keep projects on time and within budget.

You will collaborate with the Project Manager, Superintendent, subcontractors, owners, architects, and internal teams to ensure safety, efficiency, and on-schedule completion.

Qualifications

• Engineering or related degree required.
• 1–3 years of experience in heavy construction preferred.
• Ability to read and understand specifications and interpret construction drawings.
• Strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support execution of construction projects through documentation, cost tracking, scheduling, procurement, and communications.
• Work with Project Manager, Superintendent, subcontractors, owners, architects and internal team to ensure projects are completed safely and on schedule.
• Develop and maintain baselines for schedule with PM and Superintendent; manage submittals, shop drawings, samples, and RFIs.
• Oversee procurement of long-lead items; draft and review change orders with subcontractors.

Thispositionplaysakeyroleinsupportingthesuccessfulexecutionofconstructionprojectsbyassistingwithprojectdocumentation,costtracking,scheduling,procurement,andcommunicationthroughoutallphasesofconstruction.TheProjectEngineerworkscloselywiththeProjectManager,Superintendent,subcontractors,owners,architects,andinternalteamstohelpensureprojectsarecompletedsafely,efficiently,andonschedule.

Responsibilities Include:

• WorkwithPM,Superintendent,andEstimatingtodevelopthebaselineschedule


• Establishing,maintaining,conducting,andenforcingdetailedproceduresforthesubmittal,review,coordination,approval,anddistributionofshopdrawingsandsamples


• Establishandmaintainallprojectengineeringfilesrelatingtosubcontracts,plans,specifications,changes,clarifications(RFI’s)andas-builtdocuments


• Managingtheprocurementprocessforlongleadtimematerialsandequipment


• Recommendinganddraftingchangeorders;Reviewingsubcontractorchangeorderrequests


• ReviewingtimecardsandproductionrateswithPMandSuperintendent


• Trackingprojectbudgetsandproposingvalueengineeringopportunities


• Goodcustomerrelations.WorkinacollaborativemannerwiththeOwner,Subcontractors,DesignTeams,andVendors


• Coordinationoftoolandequipmenttrackingprocedures


• CoordinatedeliveriesofequipmentandmaterialswiththebaselinescheduleandtheSuperintendent'sneeds


• Obtainrequiredpermits


• Providesurveyandmachinecontrolsupporttocrewsasrequired


• AssistEstimatingdepartmentasrequested


• OtherdutiesasassignedbyProjectManager

Qualifications:

• Engineeringorrelateddegreeand1-3yearsofexperienceinheavyconstructionoranequivalentcombinationofeducationandexperience


• Abilitytoreadandunderstandspecificationsandinterpretconstructiondrawings


• Displayanuncompromisingfocusonsafetybyproperlyfollowingcompanypoliciesandgovernmentregulationsforsafeworkingproceduresandprotectionoftheenvironment


• Attentiontodetailandhighlyorganized


• Abilitytodeliverdetailedwrittenandoralinstructions


• Technologyliterate–abilitytooperatecomputers,tablets,andsmartphones.UtilizesoftwareincludingMicrosoftOffice;Procore,CADandHCSSexperiencepreferred
