Position Overview

Are you a civil engineer ready to transition from technical design into a high-impact leadership role where you steer the trajectory of major land development projects? We are seeking a Civil Site Development Project Manager to serve as a cornerstone of our Orlando operations. In this role, you are not merely managing tasks; you are architecting the future of Central Florida’s infrastructure. You will act as the primary bridge between visionary clients and technical execution, ensuring that complex water, sewer, and drainage systems are integrated seamlessly into the regional landscape.

Joining our team means immersing yourself in a culture that treats engineering as a "relationship and solutions" business. You will benefit from a robust professional development ecosystem, including our internal "University" and dedicated software training programs designed to keep your skills at the cutting edge. Here, your legacy is built through mentorship of the next generation of engineers and the successful delivery of projects that enhance the communities where we live and work.

Core Responsibilities
  • Strategic Project Stewardship: Architect and oversee the full lifecycle of civil site projects, maintaining absolute accountability for scope, schedule, and budgetary performance.

  • Client Advocacy & Partnership: Serve as the primary point of contact for a diverse portfolio of clients, transforming their goals into actionable engineering strategies through expert consultation and regular interaction.

  • Multidisciplinary Integration: Coordinate and lead efforts across various internal disciplines—including surveying, landscape architecture, and structural engineering—to ensure a unified project vision.

  • Business Architecture: Drive the growth of the firm by preparing sophisticated proposals, developing fee structures, and identifying new business development opportunities within the Florida market.

  • Technical Excellence & Mentorship: Direct the production of high-fidelity engineering plans and specifications, while supervising and mentoring junior engineers and technicians to foster a high-performance culture.

  • Operational Control: Utilize advanced project management tools (Vision/Microsoft Project) to track progress, optimize resource allocation, and ensure technical accuracy across all deliverables.

  • Regulatory Liaison: Navigate complex local and state permitting processes, applying advanced knowledge of engineering principles to ensure full compliance with all jurisdictional requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

  • Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.

  • Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in civil site design and project management for public and private sectors.

  • Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and project tracking software (Microsoft Project/Deltek Vision).

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to lead client meetings and deliver technical presentations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Regional Expertise: Deep familiarity with Orlando/Central Florida water management districts and local permitting agencies.

  • Financial Acumen: Advanced understanding of business financial information, including project profitability and utilization metrics.

  • Advanced Mentorship: Previous experience directly supervising a team of 3+ engineers or designers.
