Job summary

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Civil or Mechanical Engineering Telecom Co-Op for January through August 2027 to join our team. You will work closely with experienced engineers on energy and utility projects, gaining hands-on experience from concept to record drawings.

We value collaboration, flexibility, and a strong technical foundation. As a co-op, you will participate in field data collection, cost estimating, and documentation, while developing professional communication and software skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited curriculum.
• Willing to work full-time during January–August 2027.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be willing to travel and have a valid driver’s license.
• MicroStation or AutoCAD experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual through final design and record drawings of utility lines and related facilities.
• Field visits to collect data and evaluate existing conditions.
• Prepare construction documents and assist administration.
• Assist with cost estimating and material specifications.
• Provide general project and office support.

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Civil or Mechanical Engineering Telecom Co-Op (Jan--Aug 2027) to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers on energy and utility projects.

• Housing, relocation, and transportation assistance not available for this position.

What You'll Do

• Conceptual through final design and record drawings of utility lines and related facilities
• Field visits to collect data and evaluate existing, pre-design conditions
• Construction documents and administration
• Cost estimating
• Material specifications
• General project and office support

What You'll Need

• Pursuing a BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum
• Willing to work full-time during the spring and summer semester from January - August 2027
• Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
• Excellent Communication skills
• Must be willing to travel and have a valid driver's license
• MicroStation or AutoCAD experience or exposure is preferred, but not required
