Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Civil or Mechanical Engineering Telecom Co-Op for Jan–Aug 2027.

You will work closely with experienced engineers on energy and utility projects, supporting design and project execution. Responsibilities include conceptual through final design, field data collection, construction documents, cost estimating, material specifications, and general project support.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited curriculum.
• Willing to work full-time during Jan–Aug 2027.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
• Excellent communication and driving license required; willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual through final design of utility lines and facilities.
• Field visits to collect data and evaluate conditions.
• Prepare construction documents and administer projects.
• Perform cost estimating and material specifications.
• Provide general project and office support.

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Civil or Mechanical Engineering Telecom Co-Op (Jan – Aug 2027). In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers on energy and utility projects.

Job Activities

• Conceptual through final design and record drawings of utility lines and related facilities
• Field visits to collect data and evaluate existing, pre-design conditions
• Construction documents and administration
• Cost estimating
• Material specifications
• General project and office support

Specific Requirements Include

• Pursuing a BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum
• Willing to work full-time during the Spring and Summer semesters from January 2027- August 2027
• Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
• Excellent Communication skills
• Must be willing to travel and have a valid driver's license
• MicroStation or AutoCAD experience or exposure is preferred, but not required
• Housing, relocation, and transportation assistance are not available for this position.

Compensation to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.
