Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy seeks a Civil/Mechanical Equipment Operator for the Desert Pine BESS project. You will operate a range of heavy equipment on site, perform pre‑op checks, and strictly follow safety protocols.

The role supports offloading, staging, and installation of BESS components while reading blueprints to ensure accurate execution. With 3–5 years of heavy equipment experience, you will collaborate with the crew to maintain schedule and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience operating heavy civil and/or mechanical construction equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, grades, and survey stakes.
• Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy civil and mechanical equipment on site (e.g., excavators, dozers, loaders, forklifts, telehandlers).
• Perform daily pre-operational checks and routine maintenance; report malfunctions.
• Adhere to safety protocols, company policies, and environmental regulations.
• Excavate, backfill, grade, and compact earth materials per plans.
• Assist in offloading, staging, and installation of BESS components and equipment.
• Read blueprints and construction drawings to ensure correct operation and material placement.
• Collaborate with crew members, supervisors, and contractors to meet schedule and quality standards.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas around equipment.
• Participate in daily safety briefings and contribute to safety culture.
