Job summary

Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. (QPWB), a national defense firm, is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our New York City office, supporting attorneys handling civil litigation and insurance defense matters.

The Paralegal will assist with pleadings, discovery, medical records reviews, calendar management, and trial preparation, coordinating with clients, experts, and court personnel in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of paralegal experience in civil litigation
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, and case management
• Experience with New York State and Federal Court filing procedures and electronic filing systems
• Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records and other litigation materials
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Paralegal certificate or degree in Legal Studies preferred

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys in all phases of civil litigation and insurance defense matters
• Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, notices, correspondence, and other legal documents
• Assist with written discovery and coordinate the collection, review, and production of responsive documents
• Review, organize, and summarize medical records, incident reports, discovery materials, expert reports, and other case-related documentation
• Maintain case calendars and track court deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial dates
• Coordinate depositions, independent medical examinations, expert evaluations, hearings, and other case-related matters
• Communicate professionally with clients, insurance carriers, experts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and court personnel
• Assist with deposition, mediation, and trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness materials, and case files
• Prepare and assist with New York State and Federal Court filings
• Conduct factual investigations and assist attorneys with case analysis and development
• Maintain organized and accurate electronic and physical case files
• Monitor case progress and follow up on outstanding records, discovery, and other case-related items
• Assist with time entry, billing, and other administrative responsibilities as needed
