Job summary

Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. (QPWB) in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our team supporting attorneys handling civil litigation and insurance defense matters.

This is a full-time, in-office position with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits. The Paralegal will support attorneys through all phases of litigation, from inception through resolution and trial, working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of paralegal experience in civil litigation preferred.
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, and case management.
• Familiarity with Alabama State and Federal Court filing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys in all phases of civil litigation and insurance defense matters.
• Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, notices, and correspondence.
• Review, organize, and summarize medical records, reports, discovery materials, and other case-related documentation.
• Assist with written discovery and coordinate the collection and production of responsive documents.
• Manage case calendars and track court deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial dates.
• Coordinate and communicate with clients, experts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Assist with deposition, mediation, and trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness files, and case materials.
• Assist with Alabama State and Federal Court filings and ensure compliance with applicable filing procedures.
• Maintain organized and accurate electronic and physical case files.
• Monitor case progress and follow up on outstanding records, discovery, and other case-related items.
• Assist with attorney time entry, billing, and other administrative responsibilities as needed.
