Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP in Chicago seeks an experienced paralegal to join our office. You will assist attorneys with civil case preparation for trial, manage discovery and records, and summarize medical and employment records.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel is expected. The role requires 3+ years of paralegal experience in civil litigation, a BA plus ABA-approved paralegal certificate, and a background/drug screen.

Qualifications

• 3+ years paralegal experience in civil litigation
• Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate from ABA approved program required.
• Familiarity with paperless files; background/drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with the preparation of a civil case for trial
• Discovery and records management
• Summarize medical and employment records, create medical chronologies, summarize discovery responses
• Prepare meet and confer correspondence and draft motions including oppositions to motions
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Organize and prioritize numerous tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
