Baltimore County is seeking a Deputy County Attorney I to support the Office of Law in civil litigation, administrative matters and transactional work for the county government. Under supervision, you will handle litigation in Circuit and District Courts, draft briefs and discovery tools, advise County agencies, and represent the County in negotiations and administrative proceedings.

Admission to the Maryland Bar is required.

Qualifikationen

• Law degree from an ABA-accredited school.
• Zero to three years post-law-school trial/work experience.
• Admission to the Maryland Bar is required.

Aufgaben

• Conduct civil litigation in Circuit and District Courts for Baltimore County.
• Prosecute/defend civil appeals and prepare records and briefs.
• Perform legal research and draft briefs, memos, and discovery tools.
• Represent the County in administrative proceedings and negotiations.
• Draft contracts, deeds, leases, ordinances, and related documents.
• Advise County executives and agencies on legal matters.
