Job summary

Evans & Dixon, LLC in Chicago is seeking a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney with 2–4+ years of experience to join our growing office. You will work with seasoned civil litigators, gain real trial experience, and contribute to a broad range of cases in state and federal courts in the Midwest.

You will collaborate closely with a team, handle depositions and trial prep, and draft pleadings and other legal documents. A strong work ethic and excellent communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Two to four plus years of experience in the legal field.
• Working knowledge of state and federal laws and procedures.
• Strong analytical, communication and people skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with corporate professionals.
• Be committed to excellent performance.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants as a team.
• Prepare evidence, documents and presentations for trial.
• Handle depositions, mediations, conferences between claimants & judges, and court appearances as you grow in your legal career.
• Draft pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.
