Job summary

Evans & Dixon LLC in St. Louis is seeking a Civil Litigation Associate with 1 to 3+ years of experience to join our active litigation team. The role offers mentorship from seasoned Civil Litigation Attorneys and exposure to state and federal court practice in the Midwest.

You will learn various facets of civil litigation, gain trial experience, and work with a team on multiple cases. A durable work ethic, multitasking ability, and readiness for a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• One to three plus years of experience in the legal field.
• Working knowledge of state and federal laws and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants as a team.
• Assist in trial prep: evidence, documents and presentations for trial.
• Handle depositions, mediations, conferences between claimants and judges, and court appearances.
• Draft pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.

Evans & Dixon is currently seeking to add a Civil Litigation Associate in our St. Louis office. We are seeking an Associate with 1 to 3+ years of experience who has great litigation and trial skills and is eager to put those skills to work. As a Civil Litigation Associate, you will have the opportunity to work with and be mentored by highly experienced Civil Litigation Attorneys. You will learn different aspects of civil litigation, gain experience in trials, and will be working with a team of attorneys on a multitude of cases. Successful candidates will have a durable work ethic, superior ability to multitask, and enjoy working in a fast pace and intellectually stimulating setting.

What you'll do:

• Collaboration: You will have the opportunity to work side by side with highly experienced attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants as a team.
• Trial Prep: Collaborate with experienced litigation attorneys to prepare evidence, documents and presentations as you prepare for trial.
• Attorney Responsibilities: You will be responsible for handling depositions, mediations, conferences between claimants & judges, and court appearances as you grow and evolve in your legal career.
• Create: You will work on drafting pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.
