Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking a talented attorney to join our established civil litigation team in Manchester, NH. This on-site role offers a clear path toward partnership, exposure to a diverse docket, meaningful courtroom and client experience, and mentorship from senior trial attorneys.

You will handle representations from investigation through discovery, motions, settlement, and trial preparation, developing client relationships and contributing to firm growth.

Qualifications

• JD and active bar admission in NH.
• Ability to practice in New Hampshire; NH Bar admission preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in civil litigation matters, including business disputes.
• Manage litigation from investigation through discovery, motions, settlement, and trial preparation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and develop effective litigation strategies.
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and court proceedings.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and grow responsibility.
• Develop client relationships and contribute to the growth of the practice.

Location: Manchester, NH — This is an on-site opportunity where you'll collaborate closely with experienced litigators and a supportive legal team. Hybrid flexibility may become available as you establish relationships and grow within the firm.

Note: We welcome attorneys at different stages of their careers who are interested in building a long-term future with our team. Active bar admission and the ability to practice in New Hampshire are important. Associates with 1 to 6 years of experience do not need a book of business. Senior attorneys and solo practitioners should have an established book of business.

Job Description

• Represent clients in a variety of civil litigation matters, including business disputes and other complex civil cases.
• Manage litigation matters from initial investigation through discovery, motion practice, settlement, and trial preparation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research, review evidence, and develop effective litigation strategies.
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, settlement negotiations, and court proceedings.
• Work directly with clients to understand their objectives and provide practical legal guidance.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on challenging cases while taking on increasing responsibility.
• Develop meaningful client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of our litigation practice.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar admission.
• Ability to practice in New Hampshire, with NH Bar admission preferred.
• Civil litigation experience or a strong foundation in litigation practice.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Familiarity with pleadings, discovery, motions, and courtroom procedures preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• A collaborative approach and commitment to delivering excellent client service.
