Litigation Associate Attorney - Austin, Texas

Nunis & Associates is an established Austin civil litigation firm seeking an attorney who wants to build a long-term career as a civil litigator. Our practice includes construction defects, consumer protection/DTPA, business and contract, and real estate litigation.

We offer an opportunity that can be difficult to find in a larger firm: meaningful responsibility for cases, direct client contact, courtroom experience, and the opportunity to develop into an independent trial lawyer.

We are looking for an attorney who will assume responsibility for matters rather than simply assisting on them. Depending on experience, the successful candidate will assume increasing responsibility for cases from inception through resolution, with guidance from experienced trial attorneys when appropriate.

What You'll Do

• Manage civil litigation matters and move cases toward resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, demand letters, and other substantive legal documents.
• Analyze legal and factual issues and help develop case strategies.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses.
• Take and defend depositions and participate in mediations, contested hearings, and trials.
• Manage deadlines and take responsibility for the quality and timely completion of assigned work.

Who We're Looking For

We welcome candidates at different stages of their litigation careers. Civil litigation experience is preferred, but we will also consider talented recently licensed attorneys with strong legal writing, advocacy, and practical litigation training.

The successful candidate should:

• Take ownership of assignments, identify issues, exercise sound judgment, and move matters forward while seeking guidance when appropriate.
• Have excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Be interested in handling depositions, hearings, mediations, and first-chair trial responsibility.
• Be dependable, responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating directly with clients.
• Take pride in producing accurate, thorough work and accept responsibility for the final work product.
• Be comfortable using modern legal research and technology tools.

Texas Bar membership is required for practicing attorneys. Candidates awaiting Texas Bar results may be considered.

Compensation and Work Environment

Base salary: $110,000-$150,000, depending on experience and qualifications, plus performance-based bonuses and benefits. The firm rewards attorneys who demonstrate strong productivity, quality of work, sound judgment, efficiency, client service, and the ability to independently move cases toward resolution.

The position is full-time. We offer a hybrid work environment with flexibility for remote work, while attorneys must be available for court appearances, depositions, mediations, client meetings, and other matters requiring in-person attendance.
