- Design and analyze using hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) modelling.
- Design stormwater management.
- Perform engineering analyses and calculations.
- Prepare erosion and sedimentation control plans.
- Perform field surveying.
- Perform construction inspections.
- Process NPDES and Wetland and Waterway Permits.
- Design AMD remediation.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Maintain quality standards on all projects.
- Perform design and construction engineering tasks.
- Complete site investigations, data collection, site surveys, and evaluations of existing facilities, infrastructure, and property.
- Complete evaluations, alternative analyses, feasibility studies, and engineer’s construction estimates.
- Complete design calculations and utilize applicable software applications for design purposes.
- Develop detailed design drawings, schematics, layouts, and detailed technical specifications.
- Assist with completing permit applications and design reports for review agencies.
- Support project bid document preparation and pre-bid meetings.
- Provide construction phase services, including project schedule, costs, meetings, and administrative tasks management.
- Conduct construction inspections and prepare inspection reports.
- Correspond with clients, vendors, contractors, and review agencies as needed.
- Attend meetings with clients and review agencies for project support.
- Assist with the preparation of project proposals and budgets.
- Attend conferences, seminars, pre-bid meetings, and other events for professional development and marketing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Preferred Experience:
- 0-2 years' experience in Civil Engineering design or related internship.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Familiarity with PA DEP and PennDOT permitting and design requirements.
- Familiarity with stormwater design, erosion, and sedimentation control design and permitting.
Preferred Skills:
- Working familiarity with AutoCAD.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Openness to learning design software (e.g., SWMM, HEC-HMS, WaterCAD, HydroCAD).
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality services.
- Willingness to travel and observe construction activities.
